What is the status with COVID-19 in Sri Lanka?
Being an island, and thanks to the proactive measures taken, Sri Lanka has been able to manage the spread of the virus and is considered a pioneering country by the WHO. No active community clusters have been detected in the last 30 days within the country!

Duration of stay: You will have to stay for at least 5 days.
Visa for Sri Lanka
You will require a valid visa, which will cost $100 (Rs7,700). This will be issued for 30 days and can be extended for up to 6 months after arrival. Further relaxation for long-term stays is under consideration, which will enable tourists to be granted five-year, multiple-entry visas with a maximum 6 months stay. Airports
The following airports will be operable from 1 August in Sri Lanka: Bandaranaike International Airport [BIA], Colombo Ratmalana Airport [RMA], Mattala Rajapaksa Hambantota Airport [MRIA]
De Silva - certified hotels
You will have to select from a hotel listed on the Sri Lanka tourism website. Independent professional audits will be done to certify accommodation providers, which will be listed on the Sri Lanka tourism website. Details of bookings made with certified accommodation providers are required for the visa application.
Covid tests - free of charge
You will have to get tested for coronavirus before you board the flight. A negative PCR test is required prior to boarding the flight and on arrival. The test should be no older than 72 hours before you board. The PCR test on arrival will be conducted free of charge!!
Sri Lanka's quarantine rules:
You will be tested free of charge and there will be no quarantine unless you show symptoms. The results will take 24 hours initially. But the government says it’s working towards getting the results in 4-6 hours. If it takes 24 hours, you will be able to select a hotel for a one-night stay from a list of certified 4- or 5-star hotels in Colombo or Negombo until the test results are received. You will be tested again after 4-5 days by a mobile unit at your hotel. Travelers staying for more than 10 days will be required to take a third test during their stay. In case of a positive PCR result, the person will be quarantined for 14 to 21 days in a designated hotel.
Transport - we´ll pick you up!
Public transport may not be available, so you will have to arrange for accommodation through your hotel or place of stay. There will be no travel restrictions between districts for tourists.
Attractions and Experiences: All tourist sites will be open from the 1 August, with safety protocols and measures in place.
