The Kalpitiya lagoon is perfect for beginners and advanced levels because the lagoon is really big and there is enough space for every one who comes for kitesurfing in Sri Lanka!
Beginners mostly find standing areas at the teaching zones, a beach hut to relax during the sessions and our motivated team that supports you during your learning process. As all new sports it takes time to get a feeling for the kite, the bar and the board. As it is not always easy to implement what the kite instructor has told you on the beach, we rely on new communication systems via walkie-talkie supported lessons on the water. Within this method, your instructor can give you instructions in real time. You can implement these without any problems and learning your new sport will be a snap! Moreover, your instructor will stay with you until you are ready to ride your own meters!
Learn kitesurfing in Sri Lanka
The Kalpitiya lagoon is also an ideal training location because you can’t drift off in the lagoon, there are no obstacles to watch out for and the bottom has no sharp corals. We do recommend that beginners wear surf shoes, which you can hire from us at the kitesurfing station. It is also advisable to protect yourself from the sun. You are welcome to buy a De Silva Surflycra in our surf store or you can take your surfwear with you from home. Make sure you drink enough water and bring your own refillable bottle. At the beach hut, you can refill your drinking water at the water dispenser at any time.
Our team will assist you at the beach with starting and landing the kite and our safety boat is prepared to pick you up whenever you are in need! So you just need to come over and enjoy Sri Lankan kite beaches!

Firstly, our staff will offer you the best service and safety on site so that you can have the most fun with your fun sport! Secondly, if you need something on site, please contact our team at any time!
On the other hand we also offer you an insurance service for 25€/day at our surf center, so that you don’t have to pay the repair costs in case of breakage.
Of course we check the equipment for your safety and learning progress every day!
